a Traversagna, the Fontana family farm and olive grove, is located at the foot of the Tuscan hills in the natural park of San Migliarano/San Rossore, Lucca Province near Pisa.
Here in a sunny valley, an olive grove surrounds the century-old family farmhouse.
In 1994, the family grove was expanded dramatically when 45,000 olive trees were planted across 250 acres of beautiful green meadows at La Traversagna — which is now the largest olive grove in Italy. A walk through La Traversagna is like a step back in time, when olives were
grown and hand picked in much the same way as they are today.
La Traversagna's olive trees enjoy full and prosperous flowering due to year-round care, which allows the olives to reach optimal size and maturity just before harvesting.
When pressed, these olives render our Estate Oil — La Traversagna Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
