ORANGE FRENCH TOAST

INGREDIENTS

1 cup orange juice
1 egg
2 egg whites
1/3 cup skim milk
1 teaspoon orange extract
2 tablespoons sugar
¼ teaspoon salt (optional)
¼ cup Filippo Berio Extra Light Olive Oil, divided
8 thick slices of stale bread
1 fresh orange, sliced (for garnish)

DIRECTIONS

In a large bowl beat orange juice, egg, egg whites, milk, orange extract, sugar, salt (if desired), and 3 tablespoons olive oil with a wire whisk until well blended.

Soak bread in the mixture until liquid is absorbed.
3.
Heat remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet or on a griddle. Cook bread until lightly browned on a side, turn and brown the second side. Repeat with remaining bread.
4.
Serve garnished with orange slices.
