SWEET PASTRY DOUGH

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Salt
1/2 cup Filippo Berio Extra Light Olive Oil
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest

DIRECTIONS

1.
On a sheet of waxed paper, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and a pinch of salt; set aside.

In a mixing bowl, combine the oil, sugar,egg, lemon zest until smooth. Add the dry ingredients until they are absorbed. Shape into a smooth disk.


Note: 1. Makes one 10-inch round crust with top crust or lattice, one 13 x 9-inch crust, or one 12-inch round crust. 2. Vanilla Sweet Pastry Dough: Omit the lemon zest. Replace with 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract.
