Our Olive Oil History:

A Heritage of Dedication

Filippo Berio set the standards high, promising to craft the very best olive oils and products.
We’re honored to keep his promise alive.

150 Years of Intense Passion

Creating the best-tasting olive oil is at the heart of everything we do and that’s the way it’s always been.

1867 Lucca, Italy

1867 Lucca, Italy

Inspired by the endless olive groves in his hometown, Filippo Berio decides to dedicate his life to crafting the most exquisite olive oil, one made only with the finest olives, one that’s worthy of the most demanding cooks in the world—his neighbors.

After 15 years of experience, Filippo Berio creates his own olive oil brand. Each bottle of 100% olive oil bears his signature—a sign of meticulous craftsmanship and a guarantee that the oil found in every bottle lives up to his very high standards.

Late 1800s

Thanks to the exceptional quality of his olive oils, Filippo Berio is recognized at the International Quality Awards at the Universal Exposition in Lyon and Paris, and at Chicago’s Colombian Fair.

Later on, Filippo Berio forms a partnership with Giovanni Silvestrini, a businessman, who not only helps him build the business but maintain its high standards.
